ROOSEVELT CAMPOUT FEBRUARY 23-25, 2024

Roosevelt Campout February 23-24, 2024

This campout the kids worked on fire building and earned their Firem'n Chits.  They broke off into groups of two to run the fire building skills portion. The competition was they had to build a fire between to stakes that could be no taller than 12" and once lit they couldn't add anything else to the fire. The fire had to burn through the first rope at 12" and then through the second rope at 18" high. They all did great the first time through and learned from their mistakes. The kids all wanted to do it a second time. They also setup dining fly's and cooked all the meals themselves. At the end of the day the kids also learned about proper flag etiquette and disposal of flags that have been damaged and can no longer be used.
